A letter from the studio
Malti
Founder & bead artist · India
I sat down with the beads. The shop grew around me.
The floor
I am Malti. I string every piece myself — often after the house has gone quiet, with a stand of earrings beside me and a tray of beads on the floor. Handmade Hues is not a factory brand. It is one pair of hands, and a dream I kept sitting down for.
The first listings
The business began the way many Indian makers begin: listings on Meesho, late hours, and the hope that a stranger would see a sunflower and feel it was theirs. Then the reviews came — from people I will probably never meet — saying the bracelet hadn’t loosened, the clips wouldn’t come off, the packing felt like a gift. Those words kept me at the beads.
A shop of my own
This shop is the home I wanted for that work. A place with my name, my colours, and time to make pieces the way I believe they should be made: small batches, 2mm and 3mm glass, nylon thread that lasts, slight variations that prove a person sat with them until they felt right.
Your colour
I want Handmade Hues to feel like a colour you choose for yourself — for college, for work, for a wedding, for a Tuesday. If you don’t find your style, write to me. I read every custom request. The studio is still small. That is the point.
